Job summary

SPG Therapy & Education is seeking School Psychologists for the 2026-2027 year in Colorado. The role includes conducting psychoeducational assessments and preparing legally defensible reports, with ongoing mentorship and supervision.

This is a in-person opportunity within a supportive team environment. You will collaborate with school staff, participate in IEP meetings, and provide counseling and consultative support to families and administrators.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a valid Colorado PreK-12 School Psychologist license.
  • Must be able to work in person at school sites.
  • Strong ability to engage with students and families and collaborate with school teams.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional growth and development.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychoeducational assessments for referred students following COED and federal guidelines.
  • Prepare comprehensive, legally defensible written reports with diagnoses and recommendations.
  • Determine eligibility for placement in special education services.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and adhere to timelines.
  • Provide counseling services to students as needed.
  • Offer consultative support to administrators, parents and staff on special education procedures, mental health, and behavior.

What We're Looking For
  • Valid CO PreK-12 School Psychologist License
  • Ability to work in person
  • Proficiency in connecting with students and families, working alongside school teams

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Conduct psychoeducational assessments for referred students in accordance with Colorado Department of Education and Federal guidelines.
  • Prepare comprehensive, legally defensible written reports of assessment findings with diagnoses and specific recommendations, in accordance with State and Federal guidelines.
  • Certify pupils' eligibility for placement in special education services, programs or classes in accordance with their individual physical, mental and emotional needs.
  • Participate in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings, following due process timelines.
  • Provide counseling services to students, as needed.
  • Provide consultative support to administrators, parents, students, school-based personnel and SPG staff on matters pertaining to special education procedures and guidelines, mental health issues, child development, student behavior, learning problems and relevant intervention strategies and recommendations.
