Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) is committed to ensuring a safe and secure learning environment for all students, staff, and visitors. The IPS School Police Department plays a vital role in maintaining school safety by providing rapid and effective emergency response, monitoring security systems, and coordinating communication between officers and school personnel.
IPS is looking for dedicated, detail-oriented individuals to join our team as School Police Dispatchers. This role requires strong multitasking abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. ROLE(S) - KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - REQUIREMENTS
School Police Dispatcher
Summary: School Police Dispatchers serve as the central communication hub for the IPS School Police Department. They handle emergency and non-emergency calls, coordinate officer response, monitor security systems, and ensure accurate record-keeping.
Spanish and/or bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply. This is not a requirement.

Must meet minimum Indiana Law Enforcement Training Board physical fitness requirements upon
arrival at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy for the Basic Law Enforcement Course. Must
meet minimum Indiana Law Enforcement Training Board physical fitness requirements for veteran
officers when such are adopted.
