Job summary

Care Options for Kids is seeking a School-Based Physical Therapist in Odessa, Texas. You will provide coordinated physical therapy to school-aged children, planning and evaluating interventions to improve fine motor and sensory integration as part of the student’s educational plan.

The role requires a Masters or PhD in Physical Therapy and an active Texas license. Collaboration with educators, therapists, and other professionals in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment is essential.

Qualifications

• Pediatric focused PT experience preferred, school-based experience a plus.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with families and school staff.
• Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Position Summary: The position of School-Based Physical Therapist provides coordinated physical therapy to school-aged children. They plan, implement, and evaluate students to provide appropriate fine motor and/or sensory integration skills. They evaluate occupational roles and physical performance of students with physical and/or cognitive impairments. They provide interventions based on student deficits and they collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.

Education/License/Certification:

• Masters, or PhD in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution of higher education
• Current Active State License to practice Physical Therapy in Texas

Experience/Requirements:

• Pediatric focus and/or School-Based experience preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Self-motivated, with strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize time and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of data and information.
• Knowledge of therapy skills as defined as generally accepted standards of practice.
• Excellent communication – verbal and written, and interpersonal skills.
