Job summary

Care Options for Kids is seeking a School-Based Occupational Therapist to provide targeted therapy to school-aged children. You will plan, implement, and evaluate interventions to develop fine motor and sensory integration skills within the school setting.

You will work with an interdisciplinary team, document progress, and adapt plans to meet individual student needs while maintaining confidentiality and meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

• Pediatric focus and/or school-based experience preferred.
• Active TX state OT license required.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver''s license.

Job description

Position Summary:
The position of School-Based Occupational Therapist provides coordinated Occupational therapy to school-aged children. They plan, implement, and evaluate students to provide appropriate fine motor and/or sensory integration skills. They evaluate occupational roles and occupational performance of students with physical and/or cognitive impairments. They provide interventions based on student deficits and they collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.

Education/License/Certification:

• Masters, or PhD in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution of higher education
• Current Active State License to practice Occupational Therapy in TX

Experience/Requirements:

• Pediatric focus and/or School-Based experience preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Self-motivated, with strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize time and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of data and information.
• Knowledge of therapy skills as defined as generally accepted standards of practice.
• Excellent communication – verbal and written, and interpersonal skills.
• Responsive to requests.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current auto liability insurance.
