Job summary

Care Options for Kids in Texas seeks a School-Based Occupational Therapist to provide coordinated therapy to school-aged children. You will plan, implement, and evaluate OT services to develop fine motor and sensory integration skills and support students with physical or cognitive impairments.

You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, maintain accurate documentation, and advocate for students' needs.

Qualifications

• Masters or PhD in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Current Active TX Occupational Therapy license.
• Pediatric or school-based experience preferred.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and evaluate OT services for students.
• Provide fine motor and sensory integration interventions.

Position Summary:
The position of School-Based Occupational Therapist provides coordinated Occupational therapy to school-aged children. They plan, implement, and evaluate students to provide appropriate fine motor and/or sensory integration skills. They evaluate occupational roles and occupational performance of students with physical and/or cognitive impairments. They provide interventions based on student deficits and they collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.

Education/License/Certification:

• Masters, or PhD in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution of higher education
• Current Active State License to practice Occupational Therapy in TX

Experience/Requirements:

• Pediatric focus and/or School-Based experience preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Self-motivated, with strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize time and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of data and information.
• Knowledge of therapy skills as defined as generally accepted standards of practice.
• Excellent communication – verbal and written, and interpersonal skills.
• Responsive to requests.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current auto liability insurance.
