Job summary

Maxim Healthcare Services is seeking compassionate School Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) to support students in the Unionville-Chadds Ford area. This role offers a Monday–Friday school-day schedule with a starting pay of $18+ per hour, weekly pay, and comprehensive benefits.

You will work one-on-one with students, assisting with educational participation, mobility, and personal care needs while collaborating with teachers and families to help students reach educational goals.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience with children, individuals with disabilities, or special needs populations preferred.
• Previous experience as PCA/CNA/HHA/Paraprofessional or caregiver is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
• Basic computer skills preferred.
• Background checks/onboarding/training completion required.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one support to students throughout the school day.
• Assist students in participating in classroom activities.
• Support implementation of IEPs and BIPs.
• Promote a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
• Assist with mobility, transfers, and adaptive equipment as needed.
• Provide personal care, including toileting and hygiene support.
• Observe and report changes in student behavior, health, or performance.
• Reinforce positive behaviors and assist with redirection when necessary.
