Job summary

PRO is seeking a School-Based Personal Care Assistant (PCA) in Reading, PA through the Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU). The full-time, 10-month role aligns with the school calendar and pays hourly for hours worked.

Caseload includes K-12, Autistic Support, Multiple Disabilities, and Life Skills classrooms. Responsibilities include individualized student support, classroom assistance, behavior management, daily living tasks, and collaboration with the school team to support IEP goals.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or higher is required.
• Minimum of 6 months recent experience working with children in a school or daycare setting is required.
• Must be comfortable using a computer.
• Must be able to complete clinical documentation to school district standards.
• Current clearances (within 6 months)

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized support to a student based on their educational and behavioral needs.
• Assist with classroom activities, transitions, and engagement in learning.
• Support with behavior management strategies as directed by the teacher or behavioral team.
• Help with daily living tasks such as mobility, toileting, feeding, and communication as needed.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and school staff to support the student's IEP goals.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to school policies and procedures.
