Job summary

Bellevue School District is seeking a Behavior Support Specialist - PBIS to collaborate with staff to implement schoolwide positive behavior supports and provide Tier 2/3 interventions to students as guided by the Guidance Team. You will observe students, collect data, develop behavior systems, train staff, and participate in student team meetings to promote safe, respectful learning environments.

Strong PBIS knowledge, ability to work with diverse students and staff, and effective communication

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent and an AA degree or higher.
• Training and/or experience in PBIS theory and practice.
• Experience working with other members of a department or team to accomplish goals.

Responsibilities

• Support individual students by implementing positive behavior systems, interventions, and strategies.
• Assess and analyze function of student’s behavior with school team.
• Collaborate with school team to plan strategies to replace disruptive behaviors by teaching positive replacement behaviors.
• Provide ongoing staff support during transitions, lunch, and recess related to PBIS strategies.
• Collaborate with various school team members (teachers, administrators, counselors, psychologists, etc.).
• Assess PBIS impact on schoolwide and classroom behavior.
