Job summary

KIPP Capital Region, located in Albany and Troy, NY, seeks an Operations Coordinator to support the Director of Operations in day-to-day school activities, events, and student/family communications. The role ensures efficient facilities management, attendance processes, and strong relationships with families and staff.

The position emphasizes equity, anti-racism, and inclusive practices, with responsibilities across school systems, enrollment, and family engagement in a dynamic charter school

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience working directly with students, preferably in a school setting.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule outside of regular business hours.
• Aptitude to create and work within an inclusive environment that honors diversity.

Responsibilities

• Provide logistical support to the Director of Operations for school activities involving staff, parents, and students.
• Be the first responder to teacher calls for support in the classroom.
• Support planning and execution of school-wide events and fundraisers.
• Coordinate purchasing and distribution for materials and services as assigned by the Director of Operations & Operations Manager.
• Support the School Nutrition Program with meal calendar submissions and meal counts.
• Aid in daily attendance procedures and work with the Registrar to ensure accuracy of attendance.
• Assist in communicating attendance expectations to families and support school communications (PowerSchool).
• Organizes, secures, and maintains pristine office space and environment.
• Oversee facilities requests and coordinate with janitorial staff for daily needs.
• Builds relationships with families and distributes school correspondence.
