Job summary

KIPP Texas Public Schools is seeking an Assistant Principal of Operations to lead and develop a high-performing operations team across campuses in the Dallas region. The APO will implement data-driven attendance, enrollment, and school-wide systems while partnering with leaders to maintain safety and daily operations.

The role emphasizes continuous improvement, collaboration with families, and ensuring staff can focus on teaching and learning.

Qualifications

• 4-5 years of related work experience.
• Minimum 3 years experience in operations or education.
• Preferred experience in people management.
• Bilingual: English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Builds a strong and diverse team with an inclusive culture that brings out each team member’s strengths and ignites actions.
• Manages and develops others toward excellence in their role and with an eye toward their long-term development.
• Establishes ongoing, regular cadence to facilitate collaboration, training and support of the team.
• Progress monitors execution of responsibilities of the team with a high bar for accountability in order to drive operational excellence.
• Partners with families to set attendance expectations for new and existing families.
• Ensure attendance is captured accurately every day.
• Analyzes data on a daily and cumulative basis and engages with key stakeholders weekly to identify trends and key actions to improve results.
• Works with school lead teams to train, invest, motivate and implement attendance procedures.
• Oversees enrollment, onboarding, verification, and documentation compliance.
• Leads development and planning of cultivation efforts that ensure both new and current families feel informed and invested in their school.
• Implements an ongoing monitoring system that reviews and addresses family, teacher, and student feedback.
• Completes safety drills, audits, and documentation on given schedule.
• Ensures all staff are trained and understand relevant day to day and safety procedures.
• Ensure the front office and all family-facing systems are organized, welcoming, and responsive.
• Oversees regular communication rhythms with families regarding important school information.
• Provides insight into non-personnel spending and data that can be used create a budget that meets the school's current and future needs.
• Leverages district tools to simplify purchasing, and ensure school is in compliance with proper account management.
• Partners with School Support Partners (SSP) to ensure campus is safe and well maintained.
• Serves as school safety lead and main point of contact for campus emergency management and communication.
• Ensures students and staff have needed access to appropriate curriculum and technology.
• Partner with Facilities, Transportation, Child Nutrition, and IT teams to resolve issues quickly.
