Job summary

Zeta in New York City seeks an Operations Director to lead safety, facilities, and day-to-day execution across Bronx, Upper Manhattan, and Queens. You will build high-performing teams, design scalable systems, and partner with networks to ensure compliant, secure, and student-centered operations.

This role reports to the Principal and Network Operational Excellence Leader and includes ownership of the Zeta Operational Excellence plan, with a merit-based annual bonus and relocation support for

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of 2 years leading high-performing operations teams.
• Experience overseeing high-pressure day-to-day operations and facilities management.
• Ability to balance competing priorities with urgency and ownership.
• Experience developing safety protocols and risk management.
• Preference for K-12 school operations experience and alignment with Zeta’s mission.

Responsibilities

• Be the safety leader of the school, developing safety systems and training.
• Own the full operational vision and execute for the school with a 2-6 person team.
• Design and refine schoolwide operational systems (arrival, lunch, transitions, dismissal).
• Oversee facilities management, vendor partnerships, and emergency preparedness.
• Ensure financial and compliance operations including DOE billing and audits.
• Lead technology operations for staff and students.
• Develop the School Business Operations Team through coaching and development.
• Own the Zeta Operational Excellence (ZOE) Action Plan with data-driven priorities.
• Act as liaison between School Team and Network Operations.
