Job summary

Zeta Charter Schools in New York City seeks an Operations Director to lead safety, facilities, and day-to-day operations across a school.

You'll manage a small operations team, own the ZOE Action Plan, coordinate with Network Operations, and ensure scalable, compliant operations that support teaching and learning. This role is on-site in NYC with relocation support for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience leading high-performing operations teams and driving excellence.
• Experience overseeing day-to-day operations and facilities management.
• Strong safety focus with ability to develop and implement safety protocols.
• Experience with K-12 school operations is strongly preferred and aligned with Zeta's mission.

Responsibilities

• Be the safety leader of your school and develop safety systems and crisis plans.
• Lead an operations team to deliver scalable, high-expectation systems.
• Design and refine schoolwide operational processes for smooth daily flow.
• Oversee facilities management, vendor partnerships, and emergency preparedness.
• Ensure excellence in financial and DOE/ACS compliance in partnership with teams.
• Lead technology operations for staff and students.
• Develop and coach the School Business Operations Team (SBOT).
• Own the Zeta Operational Excellence (ZOE) Action Plan and coordinate with leadership.
• Act as liaison between School Team and Network Operations to align non-academic matters.
