The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a School of Computing Student Ambassador to serve as a face of the school, guiding tours, answering questions, and supporting recruitment activities. This position will support the university’s new School of Computing, which includes 3 strong departments and more than 6,500 students across all programs. This places UT among the most significant intellectual hubs for computer science, information, and statistics and data science research and education anywhere in the world. The School of Computing has a close relationship with Austin’s thriving tech culture and works at the forefront of fields such as artificial intelligence, robotics, quantum computing, and cybersecurity.
The School of Computing Student Ambassador position is a leadership, outreach, and communications role for undergraduate students. Ambassadors serve as a primary face of the School of Computing and help connect the school with prospective students and families, alumni, industry visitors, and the UT Austin community. Ambassadors share their student experiences, answer questions, lead tours, support recruitment and outreach events. This role is ideal for students who are welcoming, dependable, comfortable communicating with others, and excited to represent the School of Computing.
Student Ambassadors will gain experience in leadership, public speaking, teamwork, recruitment, event support, and community outreach.

Student Ambassador assignments will vary throughout the academic year based on visitor requests, tours, recruitment activities, events, and program needs. Expected hours range from 2-6 per week. Additional assignments may be requested based on School of Computing communications needs and the ambassador’s interests and availability.
