Job summary

Glendive Public Schools is seeking dependable and flexible substitute cooks to support our school nutrition program on an as-needed basis. Substitute cooks help provide healthy meals to students while keeping a clean, safe kitchen environment.

You will work as part of a team and support student health and nutrition. Responsibilities include meal preparation and serving, filling in for regular staff, maintaining cleanliness, and operating equipment safely.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience with large-scale food preparation preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Dependable, punctual, and flexible with scheduling.
• Awareness of safety, cleanliness, and district policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation and serving of meals in the cafeteria.
• Fill in for regular kitchen staff as needed.
• Help clean and maintain kitchen and cafeteria areas.
• Assist with proper storage and disposal of food.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Support a clean, organized, and safe food service environment.
• Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and school personnel.
• Adapt to different school kitchen assignments and daily needs.
