Long Beach Unified School District is seeking a seasoned Food Service Operations Manager to oversee daily activities of about twenty school cafeteria operations. You will plan procurement, scheduling of menus, and large-volume production, while maintaining food quality and safety standards.

You will train and supervise staff, ensure compliance with health regulations, and manage records, budgets, and reports related to food service activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in food and nutrition, food service management, dietetics, family and consumer sciences, nutrition education, culinary arts, business or related field.
• Two years of supervisory or management experience in an institutional food service organization.
• Valid California Class C driver's license.
• Incumbents must obtain a Food Safety Manager certificate within probationary period and maintain certification throughout employment.

Responsabilités

• Plan and direct daily activities of ~20 school cafeteria operations.
• Procure, prepare, deliver and service food for program recipients.
• Train, supervise and evaluate staff performance; interviews and transfers.
• Maintain safety and sanitary conditions in food handling and storage.
• Prepare and maintain records related to food service activities (inventory, requisitions, menus).
• Coordinate services for special dietary needs and satellite service support.
• Develop policies, rules, schedules and procedures for operations and food safety.
