Job summary

School District 27J is seeking a Nutrition Services supervisor to oversee on-site meal preparation, staff supervision, and financial records management on a 9-month schedule. The role includes managing reports, inventory, promotions, and customer accounts while ensuring compliance with nutrition regulations and health standards.

Responsibilities cover coordinating staff hours, training, process improvements, community communication, and revenue collection.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math, writing, reading, communication, food preparation, customer service, negotiating, and supervisory skills.
• Knowledge of large quantity food preparation and health department standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform and supervise food preparation per federal, state, and district guidelines.
• Compile, run daily reports (menu worksheets, time sheets, labor sheet, banking checklist, deposit slips, order forms) and ensure daily sales are deposited.
• Manage customer accounts (deposit accuracy, free/reduced status, changes, PINs, refunds).
• Schedule and adjust employee hours; rotate staff.
• Train and evaluate staff on food prep, sanitation, equipment use, and customer service.
• Implement and communicate changes to routines, processes, and menus.
• Discuss nutrition regulations with principals, staff, parents, students, teachers, managers, and community.
• Collect past-due payments and contact parents as needed.
• Complete monthly reports including CDE-13 and labor reports.
• Develop and implement promotions for child nutrition programs.
• Attend nutrition meetings as required.
• Count inventory of food and supplies and record quantities.
