Anne Arundel County Public Schools is seeking a Manager: School Nutrition Level 1 to oversee elementary school meal operations. Responsible for food preparation, service, cashiering, ordering, and sanitation, with supervision of School Nutrition Associates. Flexibility for variable hours and emergencies may be required.

The role emphasizes adherence to USDA Child Nutrition guidelines, inventory control, staff scheduling, and safety compliance across facilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalency Certificate required.
• Six (6) months food service experience with demonstrated "back-up" managerial experience required;
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Knowledge of quantity food preparation, sanitation and safety regulations; methods and procedures of school food service operation.
• Ability to delegate and to motivate personnel.
• Ability to manage 1 to 5 direct staff and supervise kitchen operations.

Responsabilités

• Adheres to USDA guidelines for the Child Nutrition Program and AACPS policies; ensures meals meet USDA meal requirements.
• Maintains food quality with supervision over preparation, portions, and leftovers; monitors temperature, appearance, and taste.
• Plans preparation, cooking and serving of food; ensures SOPs are followed.
• Orders, transports, and stores food and supplies; ensures proper storage and usage.
• Maintains inventories; checks deliveries for quantity and compliance; requests repairs as needed.
• Oversees cleaning and safety practices; maintains sanitation standards (COMAR, HACCP).
