Job summary

Waco Independent School District: Child Nutrition Services is seeking a Cafeteria Worker to support daily meal preparation and service for students. The position is non-exempt and reports to the Cafeteria Manager.

The role involves operating kitchen equipment, following standardized recipes, maintaining safety standards, and assisting with inventory and events. It requires basic education and ability to communicate effectively in a school environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED certificate preferred
• Valid Texas driver’s license or state issued ID card
• Possess or can possess a food handler's card within 30 days
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Ability to communicate effectively

Responsibilities

• Learn operation of all kitchen equipment
• Prepare foods from standard recipes and follow production records
• Break down recipes to adjust food quantities
• Fill production records with amounts prepared and served
• Assist with receiving, storage, and inventory
• Maintain safety and sanitation per health standards
• Handle cash and security procedures if cashiering
• Assist with events and lunch coverage
• Assist with kitchen cleanup after lunch
• Follow district policies on time clocks and attendance
