Job summary

Minnetonka Public Schools is hiring Cook Helpers for Nutrition Services for the 2026-2027 school year. Positions are 10-month, aligned with the school calendar, and you work when students are in school with no summer commitment.

No prior food service experience is required; just reliability and a positive attitude. Locations include Excelsior, Minnewashta, Scenic Heights, Middle School East/West, and Minnetonka High School.

Qualifications

• Must enjoy working with students.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with coworkers and the public.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including lifting up to 40 pounds.
• Computer experience is helpful.
• Ability to follow oral and written directions.
• Basic math skills required.

Responsibilities

• Heat, cook, and pre-dish food following Cook Manager instruction.
• Portion, garnish, and serve food items.
• Set up and clean up the kitchen and serving areas.
• Follow safety and sanitation standards in handling, storing, and serving food.
• Perform record keeping functions as requested by the Cook Manager.
• Assist in preparing food items.
• Perform point-of-sale and cashiering duties as part of kitchen rotation.
