Job summary

Minnetonka Public Schools is seeking four food service assistants for the 2026-2027 school year. Positions are 6 hours per day on school days, with wage of $21.72 per hour. Training occurs the week before start. Medical and dental eligibility apply for 6-hour roles.

Building assignments may change based on staffing needs. Applicants choose in half-hour increments. The roles involve heating, cooking, serving, and POS duties under Cook Manager guidance.

Qualifications

• ServSafe certification desirable.
• Computer experience helpful.
• Ability to follow oral and written directions.
• Must have basic math skills.
• Must enjoy working with students.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with coworkers, supervisor, and the public.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including lifting up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Follows Cook Manager instructions in heating, cooking, and pre-dishing food, and in setting up serving areas.
• Follows portions, garnishing, and serving procedures.
• Performs clean-up of kitchen and serving areas.
• Adheres to safety and sanitation standards in handling, storing and serving food items.
• Accurately performs record-keeping as requested by Cook Manager.
• Assists in preparing food items.
• Performs POS and cashiering duties as part of kitchen rotation.
• Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
