Job summary

Minnetonka Public Schools is seeking a Nutrition Services Cook Helper at Minnetonka Middle School East to support daily meal preparation and serving on school days. The role offers 4–6 hours per day with paid benefits eligibility for six-hour shifts, and training occurs the week before the school year starts.

Responsibilities include following Cook Manager instructions, preparing items, assisting with cashier duties, and maintaining safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen.

Qualifications

• ServSafe Certification desirable.
• Computer experience helpful.
• Must have basic math skills.
• Must enjoy working with students.
• Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position (including the ability to lift up to 40 pounds) as assessed through a preplacement physical at Concentra.

Responsibilities

• Follows Cook Manager or Cook's instruction in heating, cooking, and pre-dishing food, as well as setting up serving areas.
• Follows instructions in portioning, garnishing and serving of food items.
• Follows instructions and procedures in clean-up of kitchen and serving areas.
• Follows standards of safety and sanitation in handling, storing and serving of food items.
• Accurately performs record keeping functions as requested by Cook Manager.
• Assists in preparing food items.
• Performs point-of-sale and cashiering duties as part of kitchen rotation.
• Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

Assignment
