Job summary

Whitsons Culinary Group seeks a seasoned Food Service General Manager for Urban Pathways School Nutrition. Lead a mission-driven kitchen, delivering nutritious meals to students and staff while overseeing staffing, budgeting, inventory, and compliance with child nutrition programs.

You will partner with educators to support learning and health, applying strong leadership, scheduling, and food-safety practices to sustain quality meals and a positive work culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or suitable alternative with relevant experience.
• ServSafe or equivalent food safety knowledge and compliance awareness.
• Minimum 5–7 years in food service operations and 3–5 years general management.
• K–12 programs experience preferred with budget and P&L involvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the food service team to deliver nutritious, high-quality meals.
• Oversee daily operations: scheduling, inventory, compliance, and safety.
• Partner with school staff to support student health and learning.
• Ensure USDA school meal guidelines compliance and audits.
• Manage budgets, staffing, vendor relationships, and goals.
• Foster a student-centered, inclusive kitchen culture.
• Build strong teams; ServSafe certification or plan to obtain.
