Job summary

Whitsons Culinary Group in Berkeley, IL, seeks a Food Service General Manager to lead our school nutrition program with purpose. You will oversee multi-site operations, ensure USDA guidelines, manage budgets, and build strong student-centered teams.

This role offers a competitive salary and a family-friendly schedule, with no nights or weekends, while shaping dining services across 11 elementary sites from two central kitchens.

Qualifications

• Led multi-site food service or school nutrition programs.
• Experience managing budgets and P&L for a district or large operation.
• Knowledge of USDA school meal guidelines and food safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire the food service team to serve nutritious meals.
• Oversee daily operations: scheduling, inventory, compliance, food safety.
• Coordinate production and delivery across central kitchens and satellite sites.
• Ensure compliance with NSLP, SBP and other guidelines.
• Manage budgets, staffing, vendor relationships, and KPIs.
• Foster an inclusive, student-centered kitchen culture.
• Oversee satellite service with two central kitchens serving 11 elementary sites.
