The incumbent serves as the Registered Dietitian for the Nutrition Services Department at Shelby County Schools. Develops, analyzes, and maintains nutritious menus for students, ensuring compliance with USDA regulations across NSLP, SBP, Afterschool programs, and related services.

Responsibilities include monitoring compliance, training staff, collaborating with operational teams, and providing technical expertise on menu planning systems and wellness initiatives for student nutrition education.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Service, Nutrition, or related field plus two years of related experience (total six years).
• Must be a Registered Dietitian (RD) or eligible within six months.
• CDR credentialing maintained; SNS preferred; ServSafe Instructor/Proctor preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Develop, analyze, and maintain nutritious menus for students across programs.
• Ensure compliance with USDA regulations for NSLP, SBP, Afterschool programs, and related services.
• Monitor nutrition compliance information and program models per regulations.
• Visit cafeterias to train staff on food safety and program updates.
• Collaborate with Nutrition Services to meet guidelines and cost goals.
• Provide technical expertise on menu systems, templates, and reports.
• Assess IEP/504 plans for nutritional accommodations and procurement needs.
• Engage with vendors and oversee product specifications for bids.
