Job summary

The Alamance-Burlington School System is seeking a School Nutrition Assistant for Graham High with a 20-hour workweek. You will assist in serving meals, handle checkout processes, and maintain safe, clean serving areas in a busy school cafeteria.

Responsibilities include operating equipment, following health regulations, and supporting a friendly service environment for students and staff while contributing to nutrition programs and daily operations.

Qualifications

• Basic ability to read and speak/understand English and count currency; make change at the register.
• General knowledge of foods preparation and serving in large-scale settings.
• Ability to work with others in a fast-paced school cafeteria.
• Valid food handler certification or card as required by state and USDA.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch and a la carte items to students and staff.
• Handle cashiering responsibilities including food and ticket sales.
• Replenish food and maintain clean serving areas throughout the day.
• Monitor temperatures and ensure sanitation per regulations.
• Assist with inventory, set up and break down serving spaces.
