Job summary

The Alamance-Burlington School System is seeking a Food Service Assistant for Pleasant Grove with 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 1:30 pm, starting immediately, to support the School Nutrition program in Burlington, NC.

Responsibilities include preparing and serving meals, cashiering, stocking, maintaining sanitation and inventory. Must have basic English reading/speaking and ability to work in a fast-paced school cafeteria setting.

Qualifications

• Must read and understand English and count currency, make change at the register.
• Ability to follow written menus and schedules.
• Basic math and cash handling skills required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch and a la carte items.
• Handle cashiering responsibilities including food and ticket sales.
• Replenish food, maintain clean serving areas and sanitation.
• Operate equipment safely and assist with inventory and setup.
