Job summary

Pell City Schools is seeking a Child Nutrition Worker to support our school meal program. You will assist with meal preparation, service, and basic sanitation in the school food service facility.

The role requires good health, ability to follow safety guidelines, and strong teamwork with staff, students, and administrators. Familiarity with Serv Safe standards is a plus, and a background check will be completed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in school food service preferred.
• Current Serv Safe Certification.
• Must meet background clearance requirements as specified by Alabama.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate commitment to and support for the vision and mission of the system and school.
• Perform work in the school food service facility in accordance with regulations, policies and procedures.
• Plan, prepare and serve food as assigned by manager demonstrating initiative and enthusiasm for the task(s).
• Perform all custodial, dish room, serving area and/or storeroom duties as assigned by manager.
• Maintain high standards of sanitation and work safety.
• Operate and maintain food service equipment in a safe and skilled manner.
• Maintain an effective professional appearance with appropriate non-skid, slip-resistant shoes and uniform determined by the manager.
• Maintain an effective working relationship with manager, CNP Associates, Principal and faculty and staff.
• Provide cordial and professional service to students and others.
• Work in any position in the department as directed by the manager.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and other school/workplace matters as outlined in the Acceptable Use Policy.
• Participate in required Professional Development.
• Report, in a timely manner, any potential problems or unusual events to the CNP Manager.
• Respond to and adapt behavior from constructive criticism, evaluation and other inquiries from the manager with urgency.
• Adhere to attendance and punctuality standards as established by Board Policy.
• Ensure adherence to good safety standards.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding school/workplace matters.
• Model and maintain high ethical standards.
• Demonstrate initiative in the performance of assigned responsibilities.
• Maintain expertise in assigned area to fulfill project goals and objectives.
• Participate successfully in the training programs offered to increase skill and proficiency related to assignment.
• Exhibit interpersonal skills to work as an effective team member.
• Demonstrate support for the school system and its goals and priorities.
• Demonstrate initiative in identifying potential problems or opportunities for improvement.
• Assumes other reasonable and equitable job-related duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
