Job summary

Pell City Schools is seeking a Child Nutrition Worker to support the district's meal program. The role involves food preparation, serving meals, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen and dining area in a school setting.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, some food service experience, and a current Serv Safe Certification, with the ability to follow policies and work well with students and staff.

JOB TITLE: Child Nutrition Worker

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
2. Experience in school food service preferred.
3. Good physical and emotional health including ability to perform duties described in essential functions.
4. Current Serv Save Certification
5. Must meet background clearance requirements as specified by Alabama.

FLSA: Non-Exempt

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

1. Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the system's approved compensation plan.
2. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the system.

REPORTS TO: Child Nutrition Program Coordinator

REQUIRED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Demonstrate commitment to and support for the vision and mission of the system and school.
2. Perform work in the school food service facility in accordance with regulations, policies and procedures.
3. Plan, prepare and serve food as assigned by manager demonstrating initiative and enthusiasm for the task(s).
4. Perform all custodial, dish room, serving area and/or storeroom duties as assigned by manager.
5. Maintain high standards of sanitation and work safety.
6. Operate and maintain food service equipment in a safe and skillful manner.
7. Maintain an effective professional appearance with appropriate non-skid, slip-resistant shoes and uniform determined by the manager.
8. Maintain an effective working relationship with manager, CNP Associates, Principal and faculty and staff.
9. Provide cordial and professional service to students and others.
10. Work in any position in the department as directed by the manager.
11. Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and other school and/or workplace matters as outlined in the Acceptable Use Policy.
12. Participate in required Professional Development.
13. Report, in a timely manner, any potential problems or unusual events to the CNP Manager.
14. Respond to and adapt behavior from constructive criticism, evaluation and other inquiries from the manager with urgency.
15. Adhere to attendance and punctuality standards as established by Board Policy.
16. Ensure adherence to good safety standards.
17. Maintain confidentiality regarding school/workplace matters.
18. Model and maintain high ethical standards.
19. Demonstrate initiative in the performance of assigned responsibilities.
20. Maintain expertise in assigned area to fulfill project goals and objectives.
