Job summary

The Stepping Stones Group, LLC is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a contracted, school-based placement in Vista, CA for the 26/27 school year. This full-time role supports a local K-12 district with private duty/1:1 nursing services.

You will work under clinical backing from experienced nurses and collaborate with school staff, families, therapists and healthcare providers to ensure student safety and health plan implementation. Competitive pay and benefits accompany this position.

Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in California.
• Graduate of an accredited ADN or BSN program.
• Current BLS CPR/AED certification.
• Experience with pediatric population encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Maintain continuous observation of the assigned student throughout the school day.
• Implement and monitor student health plans.
• Accompany student during transportation and community activities when assigned.
• Communicate significant status changes to family, school staff and clinical leadership.
• Provide first aid, daily medical care, and emergency support.
• Maintain FERPA/HIPAA-compliant confidentiality.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Active RN license valid in California
• Graduate of an accredited ADN or BSN program
• Current BLS CPR/AED certification
• Demonstrated competency in the specific skills required for the assigned student including:

  • Mobility Assistance (MA)
  • Transferring / Ambulation (TRA)

  • Medication & administration via GT

  • Bowel Bladder Care (BBC)
  • Feeding (F)

  • Suctioning (SU)
  • Tracheotomy Care (TC)
  • Tube Feeding (TF)
  • Stoma Care (SC)
  • Seizure observation/reporting (S2)

• Ability to work independently in a non-clinical environment

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations
• Ability to work collaboratively with school staff, families, therapists, and healthcare providers
• Ability to maintain accurate and timely documentation
• Prior school-based experience highly preferred

COMPENSATION:

$45-$50/hr * W-2 Contract * Vista, CA
