Job summary

Oakland Human Resources Consortium is seeking a Maintenance Technician to oversee repairs and preventive maintenance of mechanical, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and heating systems across district facilities. You will diagnose issues, perform routine servicing, and ensure safe, reliable operation of critical infrastructure.

The role requires working knowledge of boilers, chillers, and building automation systems, plus strong computer skills for work orders. Schedule supports a 6:00 a.m.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of steam and hot water boilers and rooftop heating and A/C units.
• Experience with chillers and chilled water systems.
• Ability to operate a computer and basic software (email, Word, Excel, work orders).
• Must pass pulmonary function test for respirator fit.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems.
• Repair and maintain mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and heating systems.
• Monitor and troubleshoot building automation systems.
• Maintain records of repairs and safety compliance.
• Respond to emergencies and overtime as needed.
• Communicate with supervisor and staff on work orders.
