Job summary

Richland County School District One in South Carolina is seeking a Food Service Operator II (7 hours) to prepare and serve student breakfasts and lunches across schools. This non-exempt position reports to the Manager of Student Nutrition Services and supports daily meal service in a 184-day calendar.

Essential duties include cooking items per schedules, maintaining clean serving areas, and ensuring safety and sanitation across all equipment.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma and six months of experience in commercial food preparation.
• Food safety certification or ability to obtain within 6 months (ServSafe and/or HACCP).
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate kitchen equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and cooks food items for student meals in prescribed quantities and schedules.
• Sets up serving lines and maintains cleanliness of serving areas.
• Cleans, sanitizes, and stores utensils, pans, and equipment.
• Inspects daily food and supply deliveries for quality and quantity.
• Operates kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• May perform cashier duties and assemble bag lunches for field trips.
