Qualifications

• One year of experience in commercial or institutional food preparation.
• Ability to utilize fundamentals of meal preparation.
• Skills to plan menus and adjust recipes.
• Competency to complete and maintain all records as requested.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve high quality, nutritious meals following standardized procedures.
• Complete tasks within the time allocated.
• Comply with approved safety and sanitation procedures.
• Assist in kitchen cleanup and report equipment malfunctions.
• Assist in maintaining appropriate food and supply inventories.
• May direct or assist unit staff in meal preparation tasks as needed.
• Maintain required daily records and reports.
• Collect money and account for meals served.
• Maintain a plate count for meals served.
• Promote Culinary Services programs to increase meal participation.
• Assist school staff in promoting proper nutrition.
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relations.
