Job summary

Seattle Public Schools is seeking a part-time culinary assistant to support meal preparation and serve nutritious meals in the district cafeteria. You will follow standardized procedures, assist in meal service and cleanup, and help maintain accurate records and inventories.

The role requires at least one year of commercial or institutional food preparation experience, basic menu planning skills, and teamwork. Training in safety and sanitation is provided as part of the position.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in commercial or institutional food preparation.
• Ability to utilize fundamentals of meal preparation.
• Skills to plan menus and adjust recipes.
• Competency to complete and maintain all records as requested and substitute as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve attractive, high quality, nutritious meals following standardized procedures.
• Complete tasks within the time allocated.
• Comply with approved safety and sanitation procedures.
• Assist in cleaning of kitchen, equipment, tables and storeroom as scheduled by manager.
• Maintain required daily records and reports.
