SEK-CAP, Inc. seeks a full-time cook to support Head Start centers, preparing meals per monthly menus while maintaining high sanitation standards. You will help ensure CACFP compliance and assist in training new kitchen staff across SEK-CAP locations.

The role emphasizes safe food handling and positive interaction with children during meals. Required are a high school diploma or GED, First Aid/CPR within 30 days, and the ability to pass health and background checks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required and CPR/First Aid within 30 days.
• Ability to perform math calculations for CACFP records.
• Commitment to food safety, sanitation and quality cooking.
• Willingness to work at multiple SEK-CAP locations across the area.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain food at appropriate temperature.
• Prepare foods according to prescribed recipes and monthly menus.
• Maintain cooking area and equipment cleanliness and sanitation.
• Assist in training new cooking staff and substitute when needed.
• Follow Head Start CACFP guidelines and licensing standards.
• Collaborate with staff to engage children during meals and cleanup.
