Job summary

Millard Public Schools is seeking a Kitchen Production Lead at Millard North Middle in Omaha, NE. This 10-month role runs 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM and supports the Kitchen Manager in daily operations for breakfast and lunch programs for students and faculty.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, 4+ years in related kitchen work (preferably K-12 or institutional cooking), and strong leadership with food safety and inventory control.

Qualifications

• Education or Equivalent Experience: High School Diploma or GED or Equivalent experience.
• Preferable, 4 or more years of related work experience (K-12) or experience in institutional cooking.

Responsibilities

• Acts as lead cook guiding and training less experienced cooks.
• Performs advanced cooking duties and prepares items for students and staff.
• Plans production requirements, checks production, and requisitions supplies/equipment.
• Coordinates staff activities and trains kitchen staff on procedures.
• Ensures a safe work environment using HACCP logs and reports issues promptly.
• Cleans and sanitizes areas and equipment per rules.
• Assists with orders and inventory control.
