Job summary

Seattle Public Schools is seeking a Kitchen Assistant/Satellite Server to support high-quality, nutritious meal production in a school cafeteria. You will follow standardized procedures, assist in meal preparation and service, and help with cleaning and inventory while maintaining accurate records of meals served.

You will work under the Kitchen Manager, promote nutrition programs, and collaborate with cafeteria staff to ensure smooth daily operations and timely service for students and staff.

Qualifications

• One year experience in commercial or institutional food preparation.
• Ability to utilize fundamentals of meal preparation.
• Skills to plan menus and adjust recipes.
• Competency to complete and maintain all records as requested.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve high quality, nutritious meals following procedures and menus.
• Assist in cleaning of kitchen, equipment, tables and storeroom as scheduled.
• Maintain necessary daily records and counts for meals served.
• Promote Culinary Services programs to increase meal participation.
• Establish cooperative working relations with others.
