Job summary

Southside Christian School is seeking a Food Services Head Cook for the school cafeteria. The role runs 6:00 am to 2:00 pm on school days with no weekends, and involves preparing, baking, and cooking large quantities for guests, staff, and students.

Under the Director of Food Services, you will manage food records, assist with inventories, and ensure sanitation and safety in all kitchen operations.

Qualifications

• Must be a born-again believer in Jesus Christ and align with Southside Christian School's faith statements.
• Commitment to Christian schooling mission and school values.
• Spiritual maturity and ability to witness to students.
• Experience in a cafeteria setting is preferred.
• Trained in sanitation and workplace safety regulations.
• Trained in food handling techniques, preparation, and cooking procedures.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, cuts, prepares and cooks meat, fish, or poultry to safe temperatures.
• Prepare and cook items per menus and dietary requirements or portion counts.
• Bakes breads, rolls and pastries.
• Prepare portions for guests, employees, and students.
• Washes pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and other equipment.
• Develops and maintains food records under supervision.
• Assists with inventories of supplies and equipment.
• Ensure galley equipment and work areas are clean and functional.
• Attends meetings and performs other duties as assigned.
