The position operates on scheduled school days and inservice days, with shifts 6:00 am to 2:00 pm, no weekends. Candidates should be reliable, able to work under pressure, and committed to the school's faith-based mission.

Qualifications

• Experience in a cafeteria setting preferred.
• Trained in sanitation and workplace safety regulations.
• Trained in food handling, preparation and cooking procedures.
• Able to work quickly and efficiently.
• Able to work well as part of a team.
• Able to work well under pressure.
• Maintain personal cleanliness.
• High school or vocational coursework in kitchen basics is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, cuts, prepares, and cooks meat, fish, or poultry to a safe temperature.
• Prepares and cooks items according to menus and dietary requirements or portion sizes.
• Bakes breads, rolls, and pastries.
• Prepares portions for guests, employees, and students.
• Washes cooking equipment and utensils.
• Maintains food records under supervision.
• Assists with inventories of supplies and equipment.
• Keeps galley equipment and work areas clean and functional.
• Attends meetings and performs related duties as assigned.
