Job summary

Meriwether Godsey, Inc. is seeking a Full-Time Cook to handle the preparation, cooking, and presentation of daily meals and events at The Governor's Academy in Byfield, MA. The role requires reliable, energetic team players who can manage high-volume service and maintain quality.

Responsibilities include batch cooking, following recipes, and maintaining safety temperatures. Ideal candidates have a HS diploma, ServSafe, and 2–4 years of kitchen experience, with a willingness to work Sundays

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• ServSafe Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
• Experience in high-volume kitchen operations preferred, especially in school settings.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the preparation, cooking, and portioning of large quantities of meat, fish, vegetables, soups, sauces, fruits, and desserts.
• Prepare items in batches to ensure quality and timely service.
• Follow recipes and recommend changes to improve product quality and presentation.
• Cook, maintain, and store all foods at required temperatures and standards.
• Take and record temperatures, ensuring food safety and sanitation.
• Attend production meetings daily and contribute to efficiency and leftovers utilization.
