Job summary

Whitsons Culinary Group is seeking a School Cook to join our nutrition team. You’ll prepare fresh, nutritious meals for students, follow school menus, and help create a safe, welcoming kitchen.

This full-time role offers a family-friendly schedule, paid training, steady hours, and opportunities to grow within a mission-driven company. Ideal candidates have at least one year of food service experience and ServSafe certification or the willingness to obtain it.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; must complete all Whitsons and government-required training as necessary.
• Minimum 1 year of professional culinary or food service experience.
• ServSafe certification required or must obtain within defined timeframe; local food safety certification required in any jurisdiction of employment.
• Must speak and read English sufficiently to perform job assignments and follow recipes.

Responsibilities

• Cook and prepare a variety of meals according to school menus.
• Ensure all food is safely cooked and presented with care.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace.
• Work with team members to serve meals in a timely, friendly manner.
• Support special dietary needs and food allergy safety procedures.
