Job summary

Whitsons Culinary Group is seeking a School Cook for the Middle Country-Stagecoach School nutrition program, Monday–Friday with no nights or weekends. You’ll prepare fresh, nutritious meals and support safety and cleanliness in a busy school kitchen.

Requirements include a high school diploma, at least 1 year in culinary or food service, and ServSafe certification. Training is provided; join a family-friendly team helping students thrive through healthy meals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; must complete Whitsons and government training as necessary.
• Minimum 1 year of professional culinary or food service experience; school nutrition experience preferred.
• ServSafe certification required or must obtain within defined timeframe; local safety certification required.
• Proficient in recipe procedures and cooking techniques; English literacy sufficient for job tasks and safety.

Responsibilities

• Cook and prepare a variety of meals according to school menus.
• Ensure all food is safely cooked and presented with care.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace.
• Work with team members to serve meals in a timely, friendly manner.
• Support special dietary needs and food allergy safety procedures.
