Job summary

Capitol Region Education Council is hiring a Kitchen Assistant to support breakfast and lunch service across multiple school locations. The role involves food preparation, serving, cleaning, and basic cashier duties under supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and previous food service experience required.
• Nutrikids System experience a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the preparation of breakfasts, lunches, adult meals, catering activities and a la carte items.
• Operates kitchen equipment safely and efficiently as assigned.
• Assists in serving meals to students and adults, including transport, setup and cleanup.
• Instructs and assists other kitchen staff as needed.
• Cleans kitchen, related areas and equipment; handles washing and drying of counters, pots, pans and utensils.
• Provides catering-type service to school and community groups as required.
• Maintains production and service records as directed by supervisor.
• Provides cashiering services.
• May supervise students in feeding areas as needed.
