Job summary

CAPITOL REGION EDUCATION COUNCIL is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support daily breakfast and lunch service at various locations.Responsibilities include food preparation, serving, and basic cashiering with supervision from the Food Service Manager and Kitchen Manager.

The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, familiarity with kitchen equipment, and the ability to work with students and staff in a school environment. Prior food service experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• ServSafe/CFPM certification desirable.
• Nutrikids System a plus, but not required.
• Proficient computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of all breakfasts and lunches, catering activities and a la carte items.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Assist in serving meals to students and adults, including setting up and serving on the serving line and cleaning.
• Provide cashiering services and interact with staff and students.
• May supervise students in the feeding area as needed.
• Maintain production and service records as directed by supervisor.
• Additional duties as directed by supervisor.
