Job summary

Penn Hills School District is seeking a Computer Technician for the Information Technology Department at building level. The role reports to the Director of Technology and includes installing, maintaining, and repairing computer systems district-wide to ensure minimal downtime and productive staff.

Salary is $38,316.10 and the term is 240 days. The technician will troubleshoot networks and devices, assist with server, LAN, and peripheral maintenance, and support end users with hardware/software

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Associate’s Degree or technical training/certification preferred.
• Pass a computer proficiency test covering basic knowledge, PC hardware, Windows OS, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Capable of operating/repairing computer equipment and installing software as directed.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Effective verbal and written communication with end users.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain computer systems and peripherals.
• Troubleshoot and repair data communications circuits and LAN hardware.
• Diagnose hardware/software issues and perform repairs.
• Install/configure software as needed for district operations.
• Manage directory services and email user accounts.
• Provide user support and end-user training on new technologies.
• Attend district meetings and training sessions as assigned.
• Prepare written reports and network layouts as needed.
• Transport equipment to job sites and back for repair or setup.
