Job summary

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a York County School Division high school with at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA.
• Experience assembling computer systems, including printers.
• Experience installing Microsoft Windows and other software.
• Experience completing minor computer repairs and upgrades.
• Ability to travel to more than one work site during the workday.
• Valid Virginia Driver's License.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Dependable, honest, and trustworthy.
• Strength and dexterity to perform tasks including lifting fifty pounds unassisted, stooping, bending, and kneeling.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance of personal computers.
• Assemble and install new computer systems.
• Move computers into classrooms and buildings.
• Unpack computers and place them on desks, tables, carts, cabinets, or other furnishings.
• Connect all computer cables, including power cords, VGA cable, network patch cord, parallel cable, and mouse.
• Remove boxes and packing materials to designated locations.
• Perform basic computer setup including installing Windows and various application software.
• Perform basic troubleshooting techniques and minor repairs.
• Work cooperatively and collaboratively with Information Services staff and division personnel.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor of Computer Maintenance.
