Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking an HR Specialist to provide Tier 1 customer service support for staffing, onboarding, and HR-related inquiries. The role involves processing new hires, transfers, retirements, and resignations across networks, ensuring compliance with laws and district policies.

You will also manage licensure tasks, forms, and improve HR processes. You will work with the Human Resources team to deliver impeccable service, handle forms and tickets, and maintain confidential

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of general administrative and customer service experience.
• Minimum of two years of experience in an HR support role, preferred

Responsibilities

• Accurately complete staffing transactions for new hires, transfers, promotions, demotions, retirements, resignations, layoffs, and displacements across networks.
• Facilitate the referral process for school-based staff and determine lane/step placement.
• Process licensure tasks (ISBE RUSH, Short-Term Approval, Emergency) and track status.
• Input and respond to staffing tickets in the SNOW system.
• Collaborate with HR colleagues and school sites to ensure policy compliance and process improvements.
