Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking an Employee Transaction Specialist to accurately process staffing transactions, including onboarding, rehires, transfers, promotions, retirements, resignations, layoffs, and displacements. You will evaluate applications for eligibility and maintain data across HR systems, while supporting employees with HR technology and answering policy questions.

This full-time, exempt role reports to the Talent Staffing Manager and requires strong customer service,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum five years of experience in a high-volume, administrative support role is required.
• General administrative HR experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process initial step/lane placement for new hires and related staffing actions.
• Handle onboarding and staffing for new hires and rehires, transfers, promotions, demotions, retirements, resignations, layoffs and displacements.
• Enter and maintain data in HR systems and Staffing Services databases.
• Assist employees with HR technology and participate in training.
• Respond to routine questions on policies and staffing actions.
