Job summary

USD 259 seeks a Health Room Assistant for the 2026-2027 school year to support the school health office under the guidance of the registered nurse. The role involves maintaining the health room, delivering basic first aid, and following health policies.

You will work with staff and administration, handle immunization data, assist with health screenings, and document daily contacts while coordinating with the nurse for follow-ups and referrals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current First Aid and CPR/AED certification preferred.
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with staff, students and families.

Responsibilities

• Maintains the health room under the direction of the registered nurse.
• Provides basic first aid to students seeking health care.
• Contacts parents according to health protocols and guidance of RN.
• Assists with immunization data and health screenings.
• Maintains health records and compiles inventory information.
• Assists with coordinating schedules for health education programs and communications with participants.
• Responds calmly to emergencies and initiates CPR and 911 calls when appropriate.
