Job summary

Madison Consolidated Schools seeks a Health Room Assistant to support the RN in the school health office. The RN delegated role manages first aid, medication administration, and health services during school hours under district guidelines.

The position is part-time, aligned with school hours, and requires CPR/First-aid, HIPAA/FERPA compliance, and completion of required health trainings. Strong records and communication with staff are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• CPR/AED/First-aid training within 30 days of hire and maintained
• HIPAA/FERPA training to be provided by nursing coordinator
• Complete district-required health trainings within timelines
• Ability to follow health plans and document care accurately
• Willingness to complete IDOE Moodle diabetes training and related modules

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with nursing services, first aid, illness, and emergency care of students and staff
• Receive, administer, and document medication administration per policy
• Follow student health care plans as implemented by the RN
• Assist with ADLs in special education rooms as delegated by the RN
• Maintain medical records in compliance with state requirements (immunizations, conditions, birth certificates)
• Keep accurate health visit logs for students and staff
• Support health screenings and vaccination clinic organization
• Communicate with administrators, teachers, and guardians to meet health/safety needs
• Maintain confidentiality of student/staff information
• Follow employee handbook policies and other duties as assigned
