Job summary

Akron Children's is seeking a School Staff Nurse to provide comprehensive school health services to students within our district partnerships. You will deliver routine and emergency nursing care, maintain health records, and support health education initiatives.

The role requires a BSN (or completion within 5 years), RN licensure, and BLS certification, with 1–2 years of healthcare experience preferred. You will work onsite in a multidisciplinary team providing care to pediatric populations.

Qualifications

BSN required or to be obtained within 5 years of hire.
RN licensure required.
BLS certification required.
1–2 years of healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Provides school health services as directed by department and contracts.
Provides clinical care including routine, special needs, and emergency first aid.
Maintains student health records and documents services rendered.
Participates in educational efforts of the department and hospital.
Communicates effectively with management, parents/guardians, school authorities, and allied personnel.
Demonstrates care for physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of patients.
Adheres to department/school/state/federal policies and guidelines.
Other duties as required.
